This website is dedicated to making it easier for Australians to embark on postgraduate study in Europe.

As well as providing a host of links to relevant websites in Europe and Australia ASiE also undertakes research and consultation with the EU Commission, European governments and a great number of universities and foundations. The aim is to produce and update as much as possible all information concerning grants and scholarships available to Australian students seeking to pursue doctoral studies in Europe.

International Education Site - free guide to information, advice and opportunities for students worldwide who are considering studying overseas. Includes guidance on universities, search facilities, student profiles, and articles from the leading journals on international education.


Studyabroad.com
- a useful tool for searching for study abroad programmes. You can search by: academic year/semester, summer course, language, subject, and much more, or use the Country Home Pages to find country-specific information.


UNESCO - Studying Abroad - exclusively aimed at studying abroad: education systems, recognition, fellowships and other useful information. Check out the “UNESCO international guide to higher-education study opportunities” and scholarships offered by higher education institutions and international organisations in 129 countries.

Worldstudent.com - everything a student needs to know when studying in another country. Select the country that interests you, and access general information about it, the educational institutions, funding and practical information such as accommodation and health.


Europe

Study in Europe - this new initiative from the EU Commission aims to provide a comprehensive overview of possible study that can be undertaken in 32 European countries. It provides information on courses and programmes as well as background information on living in Europe and an application guide. It is a very good site to use in conjunction with ASiE for following up or verifying information.

EURYDICE, the Information Network on Education in Europe
The role of EURYDICE, the Information Network on Education in Europe, is to promote the exchange and the production of reliable and comparable information on education systems and on national policies in the field of education in Europe. It contributes to increasing mutual understanding and cooperation between the 15 Member States of the European Union. National summary sheets on education systems in Europe and ongoing reforms

Find a PhD - Find A PhD is the only dedicated PhD web site in Europe. Information on funded PhD studentships and opportunities for self-financed students to study at some of the world's top research universities, including but not only, European ones. Includes a database of PhD opportunities. There is also a Postgraduate Forum that provides an exchange of advice and opinion on PhD study from those undertaking it. Also includes links to post-doctoral positions


Find a Masters - Major European site and includes database of taught and research Masters courses by location and course field.


Study in Europe - The European Education Dictionary - EuroEducation is the guide for international students aiming to study in Europe. Over 900 universities, academies, schools and colleges in Europe are presented with useful information designed to help undergraduate and graduate students in choosing a wide variety of academic and professional courses in Arts, Business, Economics, Engineering, Humanities, MBA, Management, Science, Technology, English and other Languages.


European Youth Portal Studying in Europe
- primarily put together for Europeans but full of useful links. Note external to Europe students are not eligible for all programs listed. Very good first stop though many of its major postgraduate links are reproduced here on ASiE.

iAgora Erasmus and study abroad information resource - practical advice - read about experiences by Erasmus, Cems, and other international exchange students, or join the community of students at iAgora.


Directory of postgraduate degrees in European Integration
– European Commission site with a list of postgraduate degrees in European Integration in the Universities of the EU Member States and in some universities in non-member countries.


Ploteus - portal on Learning Opportunities Throughout the European Space
- A wide range of useful information for international students: from information on higher education institutions to working as a student and the cost of student life throughout Europe. This site aims to be highly comprehensive and is available in all European languages. It features detailed search menus enabling you to select by both location and discipline. It also provides explantions of the different learning systems applied across Europe.


Integrated Reporting for International Students - deciding where to study abroad and want find out more about your intended host university, city or country? Here you will find information and reviews related to specific universities across Europe and other students' reports about their experiences. These are drawn from Erasmus exchange students, ie they are all from Europe. The reports are also in different languages. However they often provide useful answers to questions basic to foreign study: including resources, costs and social atmosphere. Many students make their emails available so you can ask follow up or specific questions.

The EU Community Research & Development Information Service (CORDIS) has a page devoted to research openings that includes links to a search tools page for those seeking funding under Marie Curie Actions

UACES - The University Association for Contemporary European Studies provides information about exchanges, conferences and prizes and awards. If you are interested in European studies this is a useful site to gain a grasp of what is happening on the academic scene and also to look out for possible funding opportunities.

Citizens Signpost Service - EU Commission site that provides a guides to rights and opportunities available to citizens living and studying across different countries of the EU. While written with EU citizens not in their country of origin in mind much is applicable to the foreign scholar as well.

Jean Monnet Programme Home - The Jean Monnet Programme for Understanding European Integrtation includes a whole raft of initiatives in the fields of education and training, including Erasmus Mundus. this home page has links to all the projects subsumed under the programme, built around four planks: support for university level projects; Jean Monnet actions; support of the six specific academic institutions; and support for Europe-wide associations.
