This website is dedicated to making it easier for Australians to embark on postgraduate study in Europe.

As well as providing a host of links to relevant websites in Europe and Australia ASiE also undertakes research and consultation with the EU Commission, European governments and a great number of universities and foundations. The aim is to produce and update as much as possible all information concerning grants and scholarships available to Australian students seeking to pursue doctoral studies in Europe.

 
 

Accomodation in Poland

Each of the public universities provides the accommodation for students in university bursaries. There are accommodation officers assigned to help you with the administrative procedures. However, the number of places available is limited thus very popular type of accommodation for students is a rental of the room (pl:stancja) which is advertised in local sections of daily newspapers such as Gazeta Wyborcza.

The prices for monthly rental of the room vary between the cities:
Warsaw – from 500 zł
Lodz – from 325 zł
Wroclaw – from 500 zł
Krakow – from 400 zł

    Before the departure to Poland contact International Relations Office of your chosen university, so they can help you arrange the temporary accommodation for the first weeks of your stay. Then, you will be able to inspect the rental properties. The advertisements of rooms for rent are usually placed by the owners or other students looking for flatmates. So, all the arrangements are made by them. The rental agencies are not very popular.
