Australians - Study in Europe

This website is dedicated to making it easier for Australians to embark on postgraduate study in Europe.

As well as providing a host of links to relevant websites in Europe and Australia ASiE also undertakes research and consultation with the EU Commission, European governments and a great number of universities and foundations. The aim is to produce and update as much as possible all information concerning grants and scholarships available to Australian students seeking to pursue doctoral studies in Europe.

EmploymentIf the papers are stacked neatly, it simulates work

Australians, as students from outside the EU, will require a work permit if they wish to take employment. Generally these permits are difficult to obtain. The employer is required to produce a letter of employment to the Italian Police Station “Questura” but the bureaucracy can take quite a long time and your visa status may not allow you to work in Italy in any case. You should therefore not count on employment to bring your income up to a level necessary to live. Further details concerning your specific work eligibility should be sought from the embassy and through advice from the international student office of your university.
