This website is dedicated to making it easier for Australians to embark on postgraduate study in Europe.

As well as providing a host of links to relevant websites in Europe and Australia ASiE also undertakes research and consultation with the EU Commission, European governments and a great number of universities and foundations. The aim is to produce and update as much as possible all information concerning grants and scholarships available to Australian students seeking to pursue doctoral studies in Europe.

Everyday Life in Ireland

Studying in Ireland is not cheap by comparison with other countries in Europe. Tuition fees and various costs of living add up considerably and it is estimated that international students might need upwards of €25,000 a year to study and live comfortably in Ireland. The government demands that you can show that you have at least €7,000 a year over the money for fees and private health insurance in order to be granted a visa but this is a very bare minimum. That you are allowed to work part time may enable you to live better than this but you need to be aware that working will in turn most likely involve trade-offs or more stress in your study.
