The United Kingdom comprises England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland. Much of both the life and educational system will be familiar to students coming from the Australian education system. The United Kingdom offers a vast range of tertiary institutions in a very wide variety of settings. There are 116 universities in all (including the 19 separate schools and institutions of the University of London) and they range in size from as small as 4,500 students to 32,000.
