This website is dedicated to making it easier for Australians to embark on postgraduate study in Europe.

As well as providing a host of links to relevant websites in Europe and Australia ASiE also undertakes research and consultation with the EU Commission, European governments and a great number of universities and foundations. The aim is to produce and update as much as possible all information concerning grants and scholarships available to Australian students seeking to pursue doctoral studies in Europe.

The University of Edinburgh - (Edinburgh, Scotland, UK) (Times ranking 11)

The University of Edinburgh is one of the UK’s most prestigious universities. It was founded in 1583 and has been attracting international students for over four centuries. It has a consistently high research rating across its three colleges. Edinburgh is also one of the UK’s larger, more diverse universities, with a current student population of over 25,000. More than 5,800 of these students are international and are drawn from 137 different countries. Yet the University does have a very Scottish character and a wide range of courses in Scottish, Celtic and Gaelic Studies are available. It is both the largest university in Scotland and one of the most multi-cultural.
